Steamin’ Molina
Name that Molina!!!! Ok, its Yadier, and he’s PISSED. You would think if anyone can tell the umpire has a different strike zone for each team, it would be the catcher. Too bad the umpire forgot that Molina catches for the St. Louis Cardinals and called him out on a low inside strike. Molina proceeds to bump the umpire and pretty visibly spit in his face. He will surely be fined for this, at a most inopportune time, the middle of a division race. Molina definitely crossed a line, but after watching more than an inning of this game you could see why he was PISSED.
Where Have All the Athletics Gone?
Where are the Oakland Athletics infielders? Props to Brendan Ryan of the Mariners for an infield triple. And why should the Athletics play any defense? They aren’t good anyway.
Sharp in Chicago
The Blackhawks have signed Patrick Sharp to a new BIG contract extension. This is one signing I liked seeing the Blackhawks make, especially after Sharps great 2010-2011 campaign. Hopefully he lives up to the big contract($28 million for 5 years). The Blackhawks don’t need a new “Brain Campbell” contract, hopefully Sharp doesn’t turn into him.
